Neverwhere WIP

I penciled in an idea for a comic page inspired by Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. Reminiscent of Scott Pilgrim in subspace, Door is pulling Richard through a door to escape Croup and Vandemar. I plan to ink this page eventually using brush. Though I might try again to separate Door and Richard more and make Croup and Vandemar more threatening. Thoughts?

PS- Sorry for the crappy phone pic. As great as iPhone cameras are they weren't made to shoot artwork.

  1. I definately have to agree about the picture quality, but who am I to complain? My picture quality is pretty crappy.

I do have this to say-- RICHARD'S FEET ARE AMAZING. I love the angle, and you can feel their form-- some of the best feet I've seen drawn from that typpe of angle, cartoon-wise, anyway! I think the rest of it is a little too obscure to comment on, though, because you have so much negative space, that I'm assuming you're going to fill with mystical-subspace ness. I lie the angle, I just wish everything was shifted slightly more the left, to get more of that opening of the door in there, and the door itself seems cut-off, when the composition would fit better otherwise.

=D! Can't wait to see it finished!

  2. Another book I did not read! Well, don't I look dumb.

yes, the composition needs tweaking some how with the characters.
Also the arm that is connecting the two falling characters seems weird to me,..is the one guy's arm twisted?

    Looking forward to see more!
